I’ve compiled a list of mottos and rules to help me manage my time and stay motivated.
- Reflect on what you could have done differently when you don’t reach your goals.
- Strive for progress instead of expecting perfection.
- Make tasks smart – specific, measurable, actionable, realistic, and time-bound / specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound
- Celebrate successes – shame of imperfect execution is a sign of the vice of pride.
- Incorporate discomfort, mortification, and penance into my day to day routines — complacency and love of comfort are the enemy.
- Take breaks and have fun — or you will feel dead inside.
- Make things functional, then make them beautiful.
- Spend more time making things than watching people make things.
- Take care of your health, it will help with focus and emotional stability.
- Read good, meritorious literature every day.
- Remember that discipline does not happen to you. It is a choice.
- Remember at all times the self-disgust that results from laziness, and fight to avoid this state of being.
- Consume wholesome content.
